The Belén of Boltaña

The Christmas display in the church of Boltaña is a wonderful display of everyday-life in the region. We see a blacksmith, a baker busy with fresh bread, a fisherman waiting for his first trout. The vegetable garden is protected with Boj against the icy winds coming from the Monte Perdido in the background.

When we visited the church back in December 2003 the traditional Christmas display was improved with effects to suggest the passing of day and night and with some puppets making movements, but no mill made it to the tableau anymore. Pitty.
