In the early 1970s, company founder Rattan Chadha supplies stores with clothes personalized for them. In 1980 the Dutch company introduced two new labels: Moustache for men and Emanuelle for women. Six years later both where coupled with two kisses (XX) into MEXX.

Sylvan Baar and milton Beards opened their ladies' neckwear business in 1941. The “Top Hit” line of scarves featured designs based on popular songs of the 1940s and '50s. Hence the gramophone disc.
