The site in 1999:
|
| June 1999 | + | A Martini-Rossi cum
Soubry wall from Mechelen.
A multiple brand mural from Madagascar and a trade fair announcement (submitted by J.F. Vittoz, new contributor) in the Miscellaneous section. The page about harvestmen offers the option to search the database |
| + | Remember the Dorada mural?
B. Baeten & A. De Dier did again a very good job, now in France: a Thé Borel mural. A. Guët captured Allrock the American plaster. Also in the bodycare and health section. It's now easier to visit the roadsigns countrywise. I dropped the frames. |
|
| + | Two cognacs added: Martell
and the new brand Hennessy
St. Raphaël is now on its own and we know all about the Belleville celebrity wall. |
|
| + | This month starts with a fabulous
Forvil from Abbeville submitted by Dominique Arbelet.
We have several new drinks: Vichy, Byrrh, Kina Lilet, St. Raphaël with a bottle, the new brand Vabé and enough of Suze to give the brand a page on its own. Nervol is the new lubricant and we found a splendid IGOL mural. |
| May 1999 | + | We welcome Stijn Vanacker (a new contributor) with
rocks and children from Turkey.
New contribution by Eckhart Kuijken and Christine Verscheure: children from Costa Rica. A country new to the collection! |
| + | A new Spanish children-sign form
Ibiza by John Cornellier
A new brand in the Home appliances, Cigarettes in Miscellaneous and yet another Martini on the vermouth page. |
| April 1999 | + | The mills of Senegüe,
Allué, Baranguá,
Yebra de Basa and the olive mill of Alquezar (Aragón, Spain) are now on-line. New brands in the Margarine, Beer, Fuel, House, Home appliances, and Miscellaneous sections. New sections Money-matters, and Transportation now open. |
| + | The mill of Puibolea (Aragón, Spain) on-line: muy ruinoso.
A new rock roadsign from Portugal (A. Guët) More Dubonnet -and in unusual colours- on the ever growing liquor section. Also new Salamander beer and Cinzano vermouth. |
|
| + | The Bodycare section now with a brilliant Dr. Pierre, a new Forvil and Californian Ginsana. | |
| + | The mill of Lecina is on line.
The Agriculture section is now open. Several new advertisements. Liquors Suze and Byrrh; a new Sunlight wall; and lubricant Caspar |
|
| + | Children from Hungary in the mirror and a new road worker from the same country (A. Anselin). |
| March 1999 | + | A new rock-sign from Tenerife (Baeten & De Dier)
The mill in Javierrelatre is on line. Thanks to Alain Guët: the introduction to the painted advertisements now in French! |
| + | The advertisement introduction tells why we should
preserve the murals.
Two walls from Paris (pict. by A. Guët) illustrate the point.
| + | Our advertisement section welcomes two new contributors: Nathalie Belval rightly learned that Egypt is more than pyramids: Coca Cola, Pepsi and more. Adam Birtwistle spotted a nice old barn with Aperitif Suze. Michel Guët focused on the history of Petit-Beurre LU. |
| February 1999 | + | A new Swaziland bilingual Men at work
panel from Mark Plessers, a new contributor.
S. Visser once again got some new stuff: Men from Austria and rocks from the same country. But she did more; she spotted the splendid polyhedron at Bahnhof Ost in Basel (Switzerland). |
| + | Bernardo presents the fabulous mill of Alquezar.
Two new Belgian workers; page features now an analysis of the Belgian workforce. New Coca-Cola murals made it necessary to split the Other drinks page. Preserved Atlantic statement on line ('la machine a bien laver') |
|
| + | We welcome W. Van Landuyt in his splashing debut:
rocks from Turkey, Romania
and Austria; Men from Austria and Romania. |
|
| + | Mill of Samper is on line. | |
| + | E. Kuijken was in Senegal, a new country for this site.
I wish I could say the same about the children he brought back (copycats they are). |
| January 1999 | + | Painted advertisements additions focus on the good life:
cookies and beer. Baeten & De Dier came back from the Canary Islands with Dorada beer in their camera. A. Guët submitted Petit-Beurre (a delicious product, even after the scan) and the beers Wiel's and Wielemans. |
| + | It was necessary to split the Fuel page;
Lubricants are now on their own.
The Cognac page suggests a visit to the very complete site dedicated to cognac. New brand on the Photography page; first Miscellaneous advertisements on line. Several new painted advertisements: a new margarine, Petit-Beurre cookies, new Vichy mineral water, the logo of Café Quotidien and a new shopping section
| + | The mill of Fuendecampo is now
on line. Until now, North-America has been neglected by the roadsign team. But Baeten & De Dier and Guët each loaded their cameras and set out for the blank spot: Rocks in the US
| + | The mill of Arro is now on line.
Someone renovating the mill of Sarsa?
Horror page of the roadside advertisements grows. Take a deep breath before you jump.
| + | Bernardo Molinero finally got some time for more field
work. The mill (and powerstation) of Fosado is now on line. The first of ten. J.L. Acín Fanlo wrote a booklet about the Batán of Lacort
| + | Bartolomeo starts his fourth year on line. |
